Replacement Window Building Regulations
Applicable regulations for Replacement Windows
Due to worldwide governmental agreements on energy consumption reductions, there are regulations that cover replacement windows. These measure the minimum levels of insulation that replacement windows must have when fitted to a property within England and Wales (Document L of the Buildings Regulations act). Measurements of insulation are measured with ‘U Values’, the lower the U value the higher the level of insulation. To achieve these levels of insulation, it is almost certain that the window will need to be a Low E Glass or Low Emissivity Glass.
FENSA contractors (Fenestration Self-Assessment) are certified partners that carry out work in accordance with the relevant regulations. We only work with FENSA partners, so you know all the work that’s carried out is to the highest building regulation.
